Washing the feet of others

I've read this scenario before in the bible, when Jesus washed His disciples' feet. I've seen it in my youth church before where the new leaders wanted to bless the older leaders. I've heard of testimonies before on how powerful such act can be. This scene seems familiar to me. I'm not too sure whether anyone did wash my feet for me in the past... well except my mum or maid when I was a kid or smtng... but.. yeah...

Just last Sunday, our Connect Group (CG) leaders washed our feet... the feet of their members. At first I didn't really feel anything. After that I started thinking more about it. My leader is about to wash my feet.. hmm... but they just got to know me... I mean half of us are new here. We only got here 2 months ago. Probably got to know them about a month ago. Here they are, willing to show the act of love and servanthood by washing our feet... Someone that may now know us all that well... is washing our feet!!!

Hmm.. what should I feel. Some may feel uncomfortable.. but somehow I was kinda eager to go for it because I want to be blessed. Sounds liek someone in the bible, rite? Was it Peter? :) Shouldn't we be eager to be blessed by our Father? It was a touching moment though. I haven't washed people's feet before.. so I don't know how it's like.. plus I mean our feet.. ain't very clean or smooth, ya know! However, I could see their heart, their passion, the love of Christ in them. They were willing.. They didn't mind at all.. They didn't just wash our feet but prayed for us. Those who weren't comfortable could just go to them for prayer.

It was a "WOW" moment for me.. and it reminded me on how humble we ought to be as Christians. Remember how great our God is... He sent came down to serve us instead of being served. He washed our feet, cleansing us from our sins and gave us a chance to truly live a life of freedom in Him again. He accepted us as who we are but also loves us too much to not change us for the best that He knows we can be.

How often do we serve others? How often do we live as weekend-Christians instead of the everyday-Christians? How often do you reflect Christ in your life for others to see it? If you are serving in church faithfully, would you serve Him in your studies as faithfully as well? Would you serve others in your classes as much as you serve the people in your church? Would you be as friendly as you are with the people in your Christian Fellowship groups as you are as with the university students you study with?

What Do I Really Need To Do Here

Wahh!! I've been holidayin like crazy during the 2 weeks hols.
Tomorrow uni starts again!
I haven't touched my assignments or studies yet!!!! None.. ZILTCH!!!!
Bleah.. I never thought that I could have so much fun in Adelaide.
I guess it's the people you're with that makes a difference :)

Here it's no different than back home. I feel as if my lifestyle is similar. I still have my "late nites". I still have a group of people that I always meet and hang out with.
I still have movies to catch up and places to hang out. It's free! cuz we do it in friend's house.
I still karaoke here... again in friend's house... he has this singing game thing in his house. FREE!
So yeah.. My entertainments here are all FREE!! Except for shopping & food ler!

Visiting places ain't that cheap but worth the money. I've flew to Melbourne. I went around Adelaide with different groups of friends. I went for OCF Easter Camp and gotten close to different people again.

I'm glad that I've been enjoying myself. I really do. But what stike me is that I can't keep having fun without being responsible. I have responsibility to my studies, my finances, my home here in Adelaide, my friendships, my family, my relationship with God etc... as much as I would like to have fun, I still have to remember that I still have other things to handle and to finish. I've gotta enjoy & embrace life and yet not neglect my responsibility as a child, student, house mate and friend.

Sigh.. not easy.. As much I just wanna skip studies altogether.. it is my calling to be a student and do my best for him. Gotta be motivated. Wanna fix my life in this area!!!

In my years in Psychology course, I've never gotten a distinction for assignments before. Guess what? I got high distinction for one of my paper!!! Although it's only 10% of the course... still I am overjoyedd!!! Thank You GODDD!!! WoohoO!! And my dear friend who help me check my grammar language for the paper. WAHH!!! XD I have 70% on my criminal essay. The one I thought I did badly I did pretty ok... 3.5/5. Now waiting for one more paper's result.

I am more confident or motivated to do my other assignments now. I really wanna do my best. God has been merciful and tolerated all my last minuteness and also, blessed me with people that could help me, supported and calmed me down when I was rushing for assignments. I want to enjoy my student life.. not just for my freedom here in a foreign land but to truly enjoy what I learn as well :)

I'm sure if I get my life straighten up again.. I can be confident again and reach to achieve what I really want in and for my life.

You guys and gals can too k! :) Just don't give up & don't do it alone.

At the Foot of the Cross by Kathryn Scott

At the foot of the cross
Where grace and suffering meet
You have shown me Your love
Through the judgment You received

PreChorus:
And You've won my heart
Yes You've won my heart

Chorus:
Now I can
Trade these ashes in for beauty
And wear forgiveness like a crown
Coming to kiss the feet of mercy
I lay every burden down
At the foot of the cross

At the foot of the cross
Where I am made complete
You have given me life
Through the death You bore for me

Bridge:
I'm laying every burden down
I'm laying every burden down

I'm Lost Without You by Jaci Velasquez

I know I can be a little stubborn sometimes
You might say a little righteous and too proud
I was looking for a way to compromise
Thinking maybe I could work things out

I thought I had all the answers
Never givin' in
But You loved me all along
And I admit that I was wrong

#CHORUS#
All I know is I'm lost without You
I'm not gonna lie
I could never be strong without You
I need You by my side

If I ever thought we'd never be together
'Cause of all my foolish pride
Don't know what I'd do
I'm lost without You

I keep tryin' to find my way
But all I know is I'm lost without You
I keep tryin' to face the day
But I'm lost without You

You're the only one who gets rid of these blues
When I fall, You'll catch me every time
The way You give me clarity when I'm confused
Just to hear Your voice can ease my mind

Oh, my world's so cold at night
When I wander far away
Only You can make it right
No, I'm not too proud to say

#Chorus#

Bridge:
I know that You can hear me now
You make the pain just go away
Stop all the tears from running down my face, Lord!

#Chorus#
