I think I am allergic to Malaysia.
Seriously...
My eyes still itches from time to time...
Down with flu, stuffy nose as per usual when I get back.
People around me are like unwell man!
Good news is that my skin has no eczema even after I came back.
We need cleaner air here...

2009
My mentor reflected back upon my first few sessions with her and my chat about the directions/paths I was discerning for God to show me... and praying that He will help me through when I first started out the year 2008 in Adelaide...
- Part-time Job (checked): Admin/Receptionist in an accountancy firm. From 1 day to 2 days to once a week, to everyday in Nov & Dec till the 19th Dec '08. Awesome isn't it? :)
- Studies (checked): Decided to do Youth Work after a call from a lecturer in a Christian Bible School. Yes, another degree, nevertheless, related to my prev degrees. So praying for as many exemptions I can get. Did I tell you that I dreamt of studying in a Bible school since I was 12/13 years old? My dream came true... or is it really my calling? :)
- Ministry (checked): I was given the opportunity to worship lead in OCF apart from being a pianist. I was part of the International Student Ministry in church, helping my discipler/mentor in her ministry, in leading a bible study in a student accommodation in a suburb here. Towards the end of the term in 2008, I was asked to serve as a 2nd keyboardist in the children's church (Boy, it was a big challenge! Seriously! Don't look down at the kids! They sing like increadibly new songs and it really is a challenge to play their songs sometimes). 2009 - I'm given the opportunity to serve in the girl's ministry and in Bible Study. Those would be something new.
- Growth in God : I've to say I learnt so so much from uni, my mentor, from the people around me... and I'm able to chat with different ppl about my growing faith. So, I thank God for the community of people I have that is ever supportive. However, there is a need to grow more and there is a need for me to really connect what I've learnt to my heart.
2008's theme: He Provides.
And now 2009:
How do I feel about the new year:
- Nervous: On what is to come
- Excited: To be given the opportunity to be with my family (even if it's for a while) and people I've known for years. Also, bro is coming 2 study!!! Hooray~
- Stressed: Still in the midst of assignments
- Fearful: That I won't be able to juggle all that I have to cope with
- Faith: that God will help me through
What God has impressed in my heart for 2009:
TRUST
(Realise the U is in the middle of the word)
&
FOCUS
... that would excite & motivate me to be alive & live more meaningfully...
... which would make my daily life more worthwhile...
... which will help me grow more into His likeness...
... which would direct me into His calling & specific will for me as He slowly unfolds it...
Help me to be:
(to live each day)

Did I Tell You...
...How blessed I am...
to have people like you...
to remind me...the reason I am here for...
that God has sent you to walk thru life with me...
thru different seasons especially the hardest/toughest times in my life...
you were willing to be there for me...
So I wanna share my joys with you as well....friendship which has grown...
the power of fellowship with one another, with those whom you've known for a long time or just a short period of time...of God's love & grace in my life... even when I don't feel I deserve it...
that life can be full of surprises...
even when I thought I already know what it really means & thought of what I could expect...
when in reality I really don't...that I have people I can look up to...
not just my peers but older brothers & sisters that would support & be an encouragement to me thru the way they live and speak into my life...
Also, to the many who have crossed paths with me...
who may not be in the pics...
I am ever grateful!
But most importantly,

Early Rise...
I've been noticing my waking up pattern...
I've 'almost' been consistently wake up at 7.10am on weekdays, however quickly fall back into sleep after that, reasoning with myself that I need more sleep & rest before I start work.
However, I remembered the prayer I made...
"Lord, wake me up early so that I may spend time with You".
"Lord was that You?", I asked this morning
Wow! He sure responded really quickly.
People who know me.. I am NEVER an early riser.
okie.. maybe never is too strong of a word to use.
Nwayz, I realised that... if you really really call upon His Name and truly wanna seek Him. Well, there gotta be a first step somewhere...
He will respond. Most of the time, He does it in ways we do not expect, but He responds.
He usually does anyway. Unless, He's got a purpose of not responding (like the story of Job) - but at the end of it He did respond!
So yeah.. Lesson learnt.
So, Lizzie if you do wake up early.. just get up!! If u really mean what you say, den do it. Get yr lazy bumm of the bed and just do it! Discipline my dear... Then you can go back to yr cozy bed and sleep (if u have the time) :)

Weirdness~
If I..
Sleep late -> Waking up early -> On Time for tram
If I..
Sleep early ->Wake up late -> Miss tram >.<
HOW CAN THAT BE???
=.=
Let's also look into my energy levels...
Fewer hours of sleep : Alertness level is higher in the morning -> drops after lunch (zombie-nized) -> rises at about 3.30pm -> quickly drops after 5.30pm.
More hours of sleep: Alertness level is lower in the morning (extra blur) -> gradually rises throughout the day -> drops in the evening (still experimenting)
sigh...
So is sleeping earlier + more hours really beneficial?
My bioclock is obviously chaotic.

She's so Lizzy~
Lizzie misses being...
... crazy... cheeky... funny... happy... smiley... dreamy... free-ly...
Don't know what other words I can use that ends with Y di.
Dizzy? Don't like to be dizzy. LOL!
Well, she is always busy. That's without a doubt.
Lizzie misses being LIZZY! XD
Not that I am not now.
Thoughts...
Does all of those characters really dimishes when u start working?
How do u balance with... Fun vs work? Childlike heart vs maturity? Personal time & rest vs time with people?
Can Lizzie be even more lizzier than before? Or do ppl see that trait diminishing in her life?
What does it really mean to be a Lizzy? Any ideas?

Working life & studies a 'no-no'
Lizzie found out that she shouldn't cont studying if she is gonna work full time.
After work she'll just want to go into her own lil world...
No assignments to bug her... no studies to worry about.
No words/ideas she needs to come up with on top of her head.
Sometimes she would socialise but it wouldn't be as often as she used to do so.
She may just prefer to rest & watch some series that would entertain her.
Being alone sure isn't such a bother anymore because all one craves for when he/she starts working to do his/her own thing in his/her own time.
Working sure takes a lot of yr energy. It's not a bad thing though.
'Cuz all that you'll wanna do when you work, is to put in the best u could into all that you are to do... that's what lizzie aims to do anyway.
So.. if next year Lizzie have a full time job, bye-bye to studies for now.
In few years time, I'll see you again.
When the time comes, I'll be able to support & sustain myself better...
Also, hopefully have someone to support me too through it too.

Meat for happiness
I've been eating steak a lot more often then I used to.
Good timing as well.
Heard that red meat helps with blood circulation and it influences your hormones - the one that controls your emotions.
Anyway, heard that red meat is good for depressed people.
You know like people eat carbs for energy, and meat for energy and protein. Well, eat meat to keep you happy~! LOL! I dunno how strong that theory is..
Anyway, I had my fair share of red meat & it was awesome! Loved it~!
If you come to Aussie, you have to eat it at Hog's Breath.
Went for drinks after that? Haha! "I wish!", well part of me will say that... the me now says... "nah, don't need it". What a surprise?Have people been noticing that I've changed or something? I think they do. I know I did.
Either that, they just got to know me a lil better... beyond the lizzie they thought or perceived her to be...
Are her colours showing? haha! We'll find out!
Which colours would you like to see? :P

One Step At A Time
Hurry up and wait
So close, but so far away
Everything that you've always dreamed of
Close enough for you to taste
But you just can't touch
You wanna show the world, but no one knows your name yet
Wonder when and where and how you're gonna make it
You know you can if you get the chance
In your face as the door keeps slamming
Now you're feeling more and more frustrated
And you're getting all kind of impatient waiting
We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It's gonna happen and it's
Supposed to happen and we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time
You believe and you doubt
You're confused, you got it all figured out
Everything that you always wished for
Could be yours, should be yours, would be yours
If they only knew
When you can't wait any longer
But there's no end in sight
when you need to find the strength
It's your faith that makes you stronger
The only way you get there
Is one step at a time
... Gonna live my days, one day at a time ...
... As I walk through the journey of life, I'm gonna take, one step at a time ...
Through thick and thin, through sunshine and stormy days,
Take one step at a time.
One step at a time in my life with, for & towards HIM.
Thank You!

Interesting lessons but with caution. Just for laughs!
Caution:
This post is for mature audience. Those under the age of 13, pls do not continue reading the post or view with parental guidance/adult supervision. It contains vulgarality & coarse language.
For those who want to take a risk reading the post...
Have fun! :P I just find it really intersting!
Lesson 1:
A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings.
The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.
When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbour.
Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.'
After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.
The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.
When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?'
'It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies.
'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?'
Moral of the story:
If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.
Lesson 2:
A priest offered a Nun a lift.
She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.
The priest nearly had an accident.
After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.
The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'
The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'
The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.'
Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.
On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.'
Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.
Lesson 3:
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.
They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.' 'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.' Puff! She's gone.
'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.'
Puff! He's gone.
'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch.'
Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.
Lesson 4
An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?' The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.
Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.
Lesson 5
A turkey was chatting with a bull.
'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey, 'but I haven't got the energy.' 'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.'
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough str ength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.
The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.
Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.
He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.
Moral of the story: Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there..
Lesson 6
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.
Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut! (**so not what I'll do!)

More human?
Sometimes I wish that I can be more 'human'.
What do I mean by human?
More in-tuned with my emotions and being able to be sensitive to others' emotions and needs.
Sigh.
I was a emo-ing almost the whole week. With that, I didn't quite have much to offer to others.
Maybe it's an excuse? Is it considered an excuse? I dunno.
However, ultimately we are called to love one another and I think when Jesus said it, it's like the love that He showed us through the Word.
Unconditional love.
But we are limited as humans! Ok.. let's not run towards that idea yet. Start with the idea of loving one another first, with what we can and who we are...
How can we or do we love one another?
- through encouragement
- through support
- through rebuke (not often do we percieve this as one do that do we?)
I used to be a pretty good encourager & supporter... (I think ler... I hope so! LOL!) But now... I think I lost my touch.
"How on earth am I gonna be a Youth Worker?" Lizzie wonders to herself.
Many would surely start with the encouraging and support bit... but after a long while of doing so, it usually leads to the rebuke part if the individual just doesn't listen or is ignorant of what you or others tried to do.
Who on earth likes to be rebuked? I personally don't.
But do we need it at times? Yes. Sometimes when we think too negatively and are ignorant of certain things in our lives or what we have, I would think, yes I need to be rebuked. Most often a gentle rebuke at times... but there are other times a harsher rebuke (like parents to their children). Yes, it may seem that they don't understand us and all... God Himself discipline's His children because He loves us.
But pls pls pls, don't always use rebuking others as loving one another. Loving one another means being sensitive towards others as well. Rebuking is not the ONLY means of loving others =.= Some people just don't watch what they say (I have to admit, I am at wrong as well).
Often what we really need is someone to just be there.
Without fancy words, without advices, without judgements... without the need to really do anything or expressing yourself even. Just... being... there. The stillness of being there and staying, can make a whole difference.
Even Jesus called His disciples to stay from a short distance while He was in deep sorrow and went on to pray to the Father (Matt 26:38).
Sometimes we try too hard to encourage & support others... to know what are the right words we can say or the right things we could do to make things better for them.
However, sometimes it's just giving the person time on his or her own... giving space to just allow the individual to mourn, reflect, realise and learn somethings on his or her own.
Even Jesus had his personal time in prayer with the Father.
My wish list...
I wish I could be more sensitive...
I wish I would not grow tired in helping others...
I wish I could be stronger in understanding and dealing with my emotions...
I wish to be careful with my own words & my own thoughts...
I wish I can help others deal with their emotions...
I wish I cared more most often... although many times I wish I cared less...
I wish I have more strength in ministering to others...
I wish I know how to deal with others more effectively... as individuals... as the people that God has made them...
I wish I have the right words to say or know what to do...
I wish I have the right attitude towards certain situations...
I wish I could be more assertive in what I thought and believe in...
I wish I could have done a better job in being a friend...
"I wish"
Perhaps, I shouldn't wish anymore... but turn to the One who who knows it all and would teach me how to... All I need to do is ask, learn & obey... It all comes right back at Him.
Oh God... Only You can help, mould me into the person You want or called me to be. Also, the person You could use for Your greater purposes. I may not be perfect but You are perfect. Therefore, only You can perfect-ize me... even when I am not. And what does it mean to be perfect? Only You know.
So, more human? Jesus lived on earth and showed what true humanity is all about and what it should be.

4. You're at a party and see gorgeous girl. You get up and straighten your tie, you walk up to her and pour her a drink, you open the door (of the car)for her, pick up her bag after she drops it, offer her ride and then say:"By the way, I'm rich. Will you "Marry Me?" - Public Relations

Blessed Independance Day in M'sia
Lizzie gives a shout out from her blog,
Though I do complain and it frustrates me a lot to hear the things happening there, Malaysia is still pretty much close to my heart. Reason is simple; I was born there and grew up in the land for 20 years of my life! Although I am currently in Adelaide, I still remember you, M'sia.
Ok-ler. M'sians who are not in their homeland & wanna join this crazy blogger!~ Let's sing together the national anthem.. (LOL! I hope I remember liao. It'll be embarrasing if I did a mistake)
Tanah tumpahnya darahku
Rakyat hidup, bersatu dan maju
Rahmat bahagia, Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita selamat bertahta
Rahmat bahagia, Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita selamat bertahta!!!!"
Translation:
(sorry if the translation sounds weird. My Malay language not as good as it used to be. I try to make it sound as appropriate, as right and correctly as possible. LOL!)
My blood has poured out on the land
Citizens live in harmony and progress
With happiness that God has blessed
Our king, may you reign
With happiness that God has blessed
Our king, may you reign
"Yeeeppp yeeeppp Hooorayyyyy! Yip yipppp HOoooRrraYYY!!!"

Funny-lame pic
Bike helmets don't quite fit Lizzie. It fits her head perfectly, but she looks funny in it. Does not complement her style~
Feels as if I am wearing an astronaut suite/headgear.
Can hardly hear anything with the helmet on. It's like sound proof!
Yes, this is Lizzie trying to be lame. Did it work?
