Is happiness just a feeling or can one choose to be happy?
Can it last or would you have to make it last yourself?
Is happiness more important than commitment?
What if one can't find happiness in a commitment made?
Will one have to sacrifice own happiness for a commitment?
Or will the sacrifice be worth it because there is a glimpse of hope that
one will be able to be happy later or even choose to be happy
Is happiness just an emotion...?
I guess it's quite subjective to many people.

nothing is permanent, so is happiness. The only thing you can preserve are happy moments.
but i have to agree that it takes commitment to achieve happiness at a certain extent.

It's a really tough question. I guess in some ways we can control how we feel, but not always. If one is resentful, they will always find it harder to be happy. If one's outlook on life is positive, they will be more content with life than others.
Actually I'm not very sure what sort of commitment you're talking about, so I assume you're talking about relationships. In this case, it then depends on commitment on what sort of relationships. Basically I would say commitment is important in true love to achieve happiness.
As for whether it last, while I agree with Ken, but that doesn't mean you can't find other happiness in life anymore once something is over.
Happiness is a word to measure the absence of sadness. But with happiness there also is sadness and the crucial balance between these two entities allows us humans to further ourselves.
Happiness come and go..i guess much can be said for love also...
